Here is an E Ink tablet device that not many people seem to have heard of. It is the Musnap Aura C that the eBook Reader Blog found listed on Amazon. It has its origins in China, though the company is completely unknown. From the looks of it, the tablet sure has a distinct appeal. It has fairly slim bezels on three sides while the left spine is slightly thicker than the rest, providing a natural grip for users. This design makes it convenient to hold while reading or writing.
Coming to its specs, the listing provides limited information. That said, what is known is that it comes with a 10.3-inch Kaleido 3 color E Ink display and is accompanied by a stylus pen for jotting down notes. The stylus can be attached to the side of the device, though it is not known if that is via magnetic action or is held within a slot.
What is intriguing is that the tablet comes bundled with not one but two stylus pens. This ensures you always have a backup ready just in case one pen gets damaged or lost. Also, while it is not known if these are Wacom styluses, they do support 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity, a characteristic that is typically associated with Wacom technology.
On the inside, the Musnap Aura C features a 2.0GHz octa-core CPU along with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. This should allow for breezy performance with minimal lag for most purposes. A 4000 mAh battery keeps the device going and should allow it to function for an entire month on a single full charge. The display benefits from a front light feature with adjustable warm and cold light settings, providing a comfortable reading experience both during the day and at night.
The Aura C, however, runs Android 11, which is hugely disappointing to say the least. Most of the e-note devices launched in recent times run Android 13 or Android 14. It otherwise supports all known content format,s which means it can be used to read e-books, comics, PDF files, and almost all document types.
Lastly, coming to its price, the Musnap Aura C can be ordered for $549. That’s rather steep for an unknown company. The price is in the same league, or rather a bit higher than the likes of the Boox Note Air 4C, which sells for $529. The only advantage here is that the product is fulfilled by Amazon, which means buyers can take advantage of the usual return policy. So, those interested might give it a try, knowing they can return the same if it falls short of their expectations.
