Samsung Launches New 32-inch Color E-Ink Display Aimed at Enterprise Segment

Samsung has launched a new 32-inch color e-ink display, which is aimed at the enterprise segment. The new display, simply named Samsung Color E-Paper or model EM32DX, can be considered a smaller version of the 75-inch Color E-Paper display that Samsung had launched earlier this year. Though not confirmed but Android Police speculates it is the E Ink Spectra 6 display technology that the 32-inch Samsung display is based on.

The display has a 2,560 x 1,440 pixels resolution, which, together with the color imaging algorithm onboard, allows for a more accurate display capable of showing vivid colors. It has a soothing effect, which is gentle on your eyes and closely resembles printed paper. With slim 13.9mm bezels all around, the new Samsung e-Paper display is quite a looker as well.

The display otherwise is 17.9 mm thick and weighs 2.5 kilos. It comes with an inbuilt 4,600 mAh battery, which is capable of keeping the display alive for 200 days on a single charge. As it is, e-ink display does not require any charge for maintaining a static image and draws power, that too, very little, only when the display changes. This makes it well-suited for business applications where you need to change the image less frequently.

Communicating with the Samsung Color E-Paper can be done via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Additionally, it also comes with a pair of USB Type-C ports. You can change images via the Samsung E-Paper app, which is available for both Android and iOS. For this, the display comes with 8 GB of native storage.

There is also the Samsung VXT (Visual eXperience Transformation) platform that businesses can make use of for real-time monitoring, centralized device management, content management, and remote control operation of the display. The display otherwise runs Tizen 8.0. The proprietary Samsung operating system supports seamless integration with other Samsung business solutions and platforms for easy and efficient content management.

Support for wireless connectivity vastly improves the installation process as there aren’t any messy wires involved. There aren’t any restrictions regarding proximity to a power outlet. It can even be deployed on a temporary basis or relocated as needed.

All of these make the new Samsung Color E-Paper a formidable competitor in the smart e-paper display solution segment meant for business users.
