Amazon announced a nice discount on the Kindle Scribe, which is now selling 30 percent or $140 less than the list price. The discount is being offered on the first-generation Kindle Scribe, which is now selling for $320. The discount applies to the model with 16 GB of storage and is bundled with the Premium Pen. What is intriguing is that the model with the Basic Pen is still selling for a higher $430.
The discount is being offered by Amazon Canada and is not available to buyers in the US. It is not known as of now if the discount is available in other regions around the world where Amazon has a presence. The model being discussed was first launched in 2022. Amazon subsequently launched a new model of the Kindle Scribe in December 2024, which, however, came with just cosmetic enhancements over the original version.
One way to distinguish the new 2024 Kindle Scribe from its predecessor is the presence of white borders, which match the white background of the display. This makes the display seem like it extends all the way to the edge of the device, which is a nice thing, it must be said. The new 2024 Kindle Scribe also comes in two unique color options – Metallic Jade (green) and Tungsten (black).
Amazon recently updated the software experience of the Kindle Scribe, which makes it an excellent note-taking device instead of being just a Kindle e-reader with note-taking capabilities. That includes the capability to summarize your notes. You have the option to customize your notes so that you can now choose whether your summary is short or long, formal or casual, and so on.
What is nice is that many of the new AI-enabled note-taking features that have been introduced to the new Kindle Scribe have been made available to the first-generation Scribe as well. This, coupled with its lower price tag thanks to the latest discount, makes it a smart buying option at the moment. Amazon has marked it as a limited-time deal. So, make your move before the deal gets withdrawn.
