The Alcatel V3 series of smartphones is all set for launch in India on May 27, GizmoChina reported. The new V3 series of smartphones is unique in that it comes with the 4-in-1 NxtPaper e-paper display technology. The NxtPaper display, which we have so far seen only on TCL devices, offers a paper-like feel that is ideal for reading. It is similar to what we have on the Kindle device, though here with the NxtPaper display tech, the display offers vivid colours that are missing on E Ink displays.
The NxtPaper display comprises of four modes. That includes the Regular Mode, where the display is similar to conventional displays and is best for regular use. Then there is the Max Ink Mode that offers a display that has less glare and offers up to 168 hours of display times.
However, it is the Ink Paper Mode that offers a feel that is closest to real paper and is best for reading. It offers the least glare and offer maximum eye protection. Lastly, there is the fourth mode for standard viewing purposes. The smartphone offers a dedicated NXTPaper Key for switching between the display modes.
The Alcatel V3 series otherwise comprises the Alcatel V3 Ultra, V3 Pro, and V3 Classic smartphones.
