Hanvon had launched the Clear 7 Turbo+ e-reader device earlier in May. A few months down the line, the company has now announced the launch of a new version of the Clear 7 Turbo+ sporting a ‘Bright Moon White’ shade. As ITHome reported, everything else with the e-reader remains the same. That includes the basic design, appearance, and underlying hardware.
You will find the same 7-inch E Ink Carta 1300 e-paper display. The display resolution stands at 1264 x 1680 pixels, which makes for a pixel density of 300 PPI. The display is front-lit, with warm and cold light controls to allow for comfortable reading in both sunlight and darkness. With 256 levels of grayscale support, the display offers a very realistic rendering of the texts and images to ensure an optimum reading experience.
Powering the Hanvon Clear 7 Turbo+ e-reader is a Qualcomm 2.0 GHz octa-core processor. There is 4 GB of memory onboard along with 64 GB of storage. The built-in storage can’t be expanded, but should nonetheless be enough to store several thousand e-books or a few hundred audiobooks. It runs the more recent Android 14, which is definitely among the more prominent USPs of the device, given that many competing e-readers run older versions of Android.
The e-reader supports Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 2.4GHz + 5GHz wireless connections. It also comes with OTG support and features a built-in microphone and a speaker. There is also a gravity sensor onboard, which allows for the display to switch from portrait to landscape mode automatically depending on how the device is held while reading.
Coming to its design, the Hanvon Clear 7 Turbo+ shares a lot of similarity with the now-discontinued Kindle Oasis. This makes the device very ergonomic and easy to hold while reading. There are also three page-turn buttons on the right thick spine, which allow for a very seamless reading experience. The e-reader weighs 175 grams and measures 155.7 x 135.8 x 3.9–8.2 mm in dimensions.
The Hanvon Clear 7 Turbo+ e-reader sporting the Bright Moon White shade is slated to go on sale starting July 30. It will be available for an introductory price of 192 USD. For reference, the Clear 7 Turbo+, sporting a dark gray shade, sells for 220 USD.
