Sharp A2 ePoster Based on E Ink Spectra 6 Color e-Paper Display Launched

Here’s introducing the new Sharp A2 ePoster display solution based on the E Ink Spectra 6 e-paper display. The display is identified by the model number EP-CA22, which conforms to the internationally recognized A2 size specification that applies to paper posters. This ensures that the Sharp A2 ePoster can be seen as a viable alternative to traditional paper posters, so that content created for paper posters can be reflected on the e-paper display without requiring any modifications.

The e-paper display measures 28.5 inches and has a 2,160 × 3,060 pixels resolution. As is already known, e-paper displays are characterized by their ability to hold on to an image without drawing any power. It is only when the image changes that power is drawn, and that too, only a minuscule amount. This makes the display extremely efficient for showing content that is largely static and needs to be updated after a long interval.

The A2 ePoster also benefits from Sharp’s proprietary color reproduction and image processing technologies that allow for vivid color renderings, smooth gradations, and sharp text. The display is otherwise glare-free and is soothing on the eyes, which further adds to its appeal. e-Paper display also has wide viewing angles and remains visible even in sunlight or bright light conditions.

The A2 ePoster is also easy to install and maintain. Thanks to its flat back design and a relatively lightweight build – just 2.3 kilograms – it can be easily mounted on a wall. It comes with 16 GB of internal memory, out of which 14 GB is user available. It measures 438.0 × 617.8 × 14.7 mm in dimensions and comes with a pair of USB Type-C ports for data transfer and power supply. It also supports wireless connectivity via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.2.

Among its usage scenarios include advertising purposes, as a digital menu at food outlets, for displaying notices at public spaces, and so on. Sharp is yet to announce the pricing structure but aims to produce around 500 units of the A2 ePoster every month. The A2 ePoster is slated for launch in late June.
