New TCL NXTPAPER 3.0 Display Tech Promises a More Paper-Like Experience

At CES 2024, TCL has taken the wraps off its latest display technology, NXTPAPER 3.0, boasting a more paper-like feel than ever before. The star of the show is the TCL NXTPAPER 14 Pro tablet, showcasing the cutting-edge NXTPAPER display technology. Additionally, the Tab 10 NXTPAPER 5G offers a more compact option for those seeking a smaller device.

TCL NXTPAPER 3.0 Display: A Closer Look

The new NXTPAPER 3.0 display retains the core backlit LCD design but introduces significant improvements. TCL claims a substantial reduction in glare and an impressive 61 percent increase in blue light filtration, making it exceptionally eye-friendly. The Circularly Polarized Light (CPL) screen mimics the natural light reading experience, providing a display that closely resembles the feel of reading books in daylight.

This advanced display is 10 percent brighter, reaching 700 nits in brightness. The addition of DC dimming reduces flicker, and the RGB sensor adjusts color temperature based on ambient lighting conditions. These enhancements collectively create a more soothing display, reducing eye fatigue during activities like reading e-books or watching videos.

The TCL NXTPAPER display technology maintains the benefits of a standard LCD screen but with a focus on eye-friendly features. With a higher refresh rate and full-color support, it addresses common challenges faced by traditional E Ink displays.

TCL NXTPAPER 14 Pro Tablet: Impressive Features

The TCL NXTPAPER 14 Pro tablet boasts a 14-inch 2.8K display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Powering the tablet is a MediaTek Dimensity 8020 processor, paired with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of native storage. Noteworthy is the VersaView UI, enabling seamless switching between NXTPAPER mode and the standard tablet mode, offering choices like full-color, black-and-white, or a muted color effect.

In NXTPAPER mode, the tablet provides a Kindle-like experience, prioritizing a monochrome display for a more focused reading environment. The UI adapts with stripped-down icons and increased blank space. The tablet also features a physical button for effortless switching between viewing modes and includes an Eye Health Assistant to promote healthy usage.

Moreover, the TCL NXTPAPER 14 Pro can transform into a notebook device by attaching a compatible keyboard unit.

Tab 10 NXTPAPER 5G: Compact and Connected

The Tab 10 NXTPAPER 5G adopts the same NXTPAPER 3.0 display technology in a smaller 10.4-inch 2K display. This tablet stands out with its 5G support, providing connectivity on the go. While lacking a dedicated button for changing display modes, the Tab 10 NXTPAPER offers 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage, dual speakers, and a 6,000 mAh battery. Running Android 14 out of the box, it combines advanced features with a compact design.
