iFlytek has unveiled its latest e-note device, the iFlytek Youth Reading Book S2. The e-note features a 10-inch E Ink display with a resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels that leads to a pixel density of 200 PPI. While this may seem modest compared to devices with mainstream 300 PPI resolution E Ink displays, the iFlytek offering comes with several noteworthy features.
The new e-note device boasts 2 GB of memory and 64 GB of onboard storage, ensuring ample space for reading materials. Powered by a 3200 mAh battery, the device can be conveniently recharged through its Type-C port. The bundled stylus, with 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity and an eraser at the top, is designed to provide a realistic and natural writing experience reminiscent of pen on paper.
In terms of e-book reading capabilities, the iFlytek e-note supports various formats, including PDF, MOBI, TXT, and EPUB. Equipped with dual microphones and a single speaker, the device offers Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. Running on a customized version of the Android operating system, it provides a versatile and user-friendly interface.
As for its design, the iFlytek e-note deviates from the industry standard of having one thicker side for better grip. Instead, it adopts a more conventional design with a thicker forehead and chin, accompanied by thinner bezels on the sides. The accompanying pen attaches magnetically to the device’s side.
The iFlytek e-note is currently available for pre-order on JingDong for 1999 yuan, presenting an attractive option for users seeking an E Ink device with a balance of features and affordability.
