The Bigme B7 E Ink tablet is now available to buy. The e-note was first launched in March. The company had then announced that the B7 is meant for sale in the international markets and that even domestic buyers will have to make the payment using USD. Its price wasn’t revealed at the time, though it is now listed on Amazon for $309.00. That makes it one of the most expensive 7-inch e-readers out there. The B7 also comes with some unique feature, which includes a SIM card slot that allows for an always-on smartphone-like capability. Maybe that’s the reason the e-reader is priced that high.
The rest of the specs include a 2.4 GHz octa-core processor, 8 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of storage. There is also the provision to add another 1 TB of storage via microSD cards. Upfront, you get a 7-inch Kaleido 3 color e-paper display having 300 PPI and 150 PPI B/W and color resolution, respectively. The bezels sport a piano black finish while the left spine is done up in a shade of blue. All of this nicely complements the grayish theme on the rear.
The rear also gets an HD camera, complete with an LED flash. That likely is for scanning documents and converting them to PDF format for use by the students or office workers. Additionally, the 4G feature allows the B7 to be online at all times. You can also make phone calls using the B7, even though that does seem quite a weird thing to do. All of this is perhaps an attempt to make the B7 as good a device for office use as it is going to be for reading e-books and other content.
The accompanying stylus will let you jot down notes, draw, or just scribble, as the need might be. The pen, however, needs to be charged periodically, though the good thing here is that it can be charged wirelessly. Bigme didn’t mention what touchscreen type they are using, though what is evident is that it is not Wacom. Otherwise, the stylus wouldn’t need to be charged.
Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi. The B7 supports audiobooks, and you can easily listen to audio content like audiobooks, podcasts, or music using Bluetooth headsets. The B7 runs Android 14 and supports the Google Play Store. For power, it comes with a 3000 mAh battery and can be charged via a USB slot.
Let me know in the comment section below if you will be buying the B7 in spite of its high price tag. Also, let me know what you think of the calling feature of the Bigme B7 e-reader.
