reMarkable announced it has increased the prices of its reMarkable Paper Pro bundle by $50 in the United States. The company said this has been done to offset an abrupt rise in input costs due to higher tariffs imposed on goods coming from China. The new price has come into effect starting May 28, 2025. As a result, the reMarkable Paper Pro and the regular Marker are priced at $679, which is $50 more than the earlier price of $629. As it is, the reMarkable Pro has been among the more costly e-note devices, and the latest price rise will only make it out of the reach of more people.
However, it is only the reMarkable Paper Pro bundles that have undergone a price rise. Individual accessories, such as the Markers or Folios, continue to be available at the regular price. The price rise is also evident in the Amazon listing, which is reflecting the new price.
“reMarkable adjusted the price of reMarkable Paper Pro in the US on the 28th of May. This was a necessary step for us to be able to contend with evolving market dynamics and ensure we can continue to invest in developing the best possible products and experience for our customers,” a reMarkable spokesman stated to Good e-Reader.
“This was a US-exclusive price adjustment to address the sustained impact of external economic factors, including trade tariffs, on the cost of bringing our products to the US market. We don’t have any price changes to announce for other regions or products at this time,” the spokesperson further added.
reMarkable had launched the Paper Pro in September 2024. The e-note device is also the most innovative we have seen in recent times, thanks to it sporting an e-ink Gallery 3 display having 2160 x 1620 and 229 PPI resolution. All color e-readers or e-note devices launched in recent times come almost exclusively with the Kaleido 3 panel.
In contrast, the Gallery 3 offers native support for color, which is unlike the Kaleido 3 panel that uses a color filter array on top to produce the color effect. Gallery 3 panel supports more than 50,000 colors compared to just 4096 colors for Kaleido 3. On the downside, the Gallery 3 display has a slightly longer response time compared to Kaleido 3.
The rest of the specs of the reMarkable Paper Pro include a 1.8 GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 processor, 2 GB of LPDDR4 RAM, along with 64 GB of storage. It supports (2.4G + 5G) Wi-Fi and USB-C. Power comes from a 5,030 mAh battery. It weighs just 525 grams and measures 5.1 mm in thickness.
