Free Kindle Reads for Prime Members: Your August First Reads Picks Are Here

Amazon Prime members stand to gain two free e-books this August. This is via the Amazon First Reads Program, where Prime members are allowed early access to a specially curated list of previously unpublished titles. Among the several perks that Prime Members are entitled to include early access to titles before they are made available to the masses. You can pick up one free e-book from this collection, while there is another bonus short read also for the taking.

It is by the first of every month that Amazon comes up with a fresh new set of First Read titles. They span across genres, and while you are free to choose any one from the list to claim for free, there is also another short read title that you can download completely free of cost. The free titles are yours to keep forever. Historically, Amazon had always offered one free e-book to Prime members every month. While this has always been the norm, for the past several months, Amazon has been offering two titles for free.

However, the catch is that while one is a full-fledged e-book, the other is a short read that you will be getting. Nonetheless, this also serves as a nice way to grow your collection of e-book titles completely for free. If this is tempting enough to enrol for Amazon Prime, you can do so for a monthly fee of $15 or by paying a one-time annual fee of $139.

This monthly offering is particularly useful for Kindle users who are always on the lookout for fresh reading material. Since these titles span across various genres, they provide something for everyone—whether you’re into thrillers, romance, or historical fiction. Plus, owning them forever means you’re building a personal digital library without spending a dime.

As already stated, the eight titles that are included in the First Reads collection are carefully selected to cover a wide range of genres. This ensures there is something for almost everyone. However, while you get down to choosing your preferred e-book title from the available list, make sure you do so using a browser and not the Kindle or Amazon application. Select the e-book that you’d like to have for free.

Using a browser is necessary because the Kindle app and Amazon mobile app do not show the ‘Read for Free’ option directly for First Reads titles. It’s a small but important detail that ensures you can claim your free book properly.

The next thing for you to do will be to click on the Shop Now button. Thereafter, click on the ‘Read for Free’ or the ‘Buy Now with 1-Click’. You can find these on the Amazon page of the book under the ‘First Reads’ banner. Repeat the same process for the short read title as well and download both to the Kindle device linked to the Amazon account. Never click on the ‘Pre-order for…’ button as this will take you to the payment section.

Once downloaded, the books will automatically sync to your Kindle device or app, so you can begin reading instantly, even offline. Whether you’re traveling, commuting, or relaxing at home, having two free books each month means you’ll never be short of something interesting to read.

To help you get started, here is the complete list of First Reads titles available for the month of August:

• Please Don’t Lie (Genre: Psychological Thriller)
• The First Witch of Boston: A Novel (Genre: Historical Fiction)
• You’ll Find It All Still Here: A Novel (Genre: Women’s Fiction)
• Kingdom of Tomorrow (Genre: Romantasy)
• What Happened to Lucy Vale: A Novel (Genre: Coming of Age Suspense)
• Both Things Are True: A Novel (Genre: Women’s Fiction)
• Cold Island: A Novel (Genre: Police Procedural)
• Under a Greek Sky (Genre: Romance)

So, if you are an Amazon Prime Member and love reading books, claim your free pair of e-book titles available for the month of August. The free offer is going to be live for the entire month.

And if you’re new to the Kindle ecosystem, this is a great way to test out the experience. With just a Prime membership, you get to sample high-quality reads and enjoy the convenience of digital reading—no need to carry physical books or wait for deliveries.
