Bigme B6 e-Reader With 6-inch Kaleido 3 Display and Android 14 Launched

Bigme has a new e-reader device to offer in the budget entry-level segment, NotebookCheck reported. It is the Bigme B6 that comes with a 6-inch color E Ink display and is priced quite competitively at $139. The Kaleido 3 e-paper display allows for a 300 PPI and 150 PPI resolution for black-and-white and color content, respectively. The 36-level adjustable dual warm and cold front light ensures you have the perfect reading experience be it whether reading out in the sun or in the dark.

The display has also received the acclaimed TUV Rheinland certification to offer fatigue-free reading. Aiding in that is the glare-free display that is flicker-free and offers zero blue light emission. The color display ensures you get to view a diverse range of content, which can be magazines, comics, e-books, and such in their natural grandeur. There are also four refresh modes available, which you can invoke to suit viewing different content types. That includes even watching videos in the highest refresh speed setting.

A unique aspect of the Bigme B6 is the set of virtual buttons it comes with. These buttons, which are located in a narrow band at the bottom of the display, will let you perform different tasks such as navigating to the previous or next page, going to the Settings page, the library section, adjusting fonts, and so on. It’s unlikely to come across an e-reader device in recent times that features a dedicated zone for virtual buttons.

Powering the e-reader is an octa-core processor. There is 4 GB of memory onboard along with 64 GB of storage. That alone is enough for about 20,000 books. Additionally, you can add up to 1 TB of space via microSD cards that can hold around another 2 million e-books. That perhaps is enough books to last an entire lifetime. It comes with a G-Sensor and supports Wi-Fi (2.4G & 5G) and Bluetooth wireless connectivity.

A nice thing with the Bigme B6 is that it runs the more recent Android 14 OS. Further, with support for the Google Play Store, you can download any app you need. This enhances the scope and functionality of the e-reader immensely. A 2,100 mAh battery keeps the device alive and is good to last over a week comfortably on a single charge.

The B6 can also be used to listen to audiobooks, podcasts, or music. For this, it comes with a built-in speaker, though you can also pair it with a headset or an earbud via Bluetooth for a more intimate listening experience. There is also a sleep-timer feature that shuts down the device after a specific interval. Coming to its dimensions, the B6 measures a quite compact 108 x 149.3 x 6.98 mm. It weighs about 176 grams, which makes it among the most compact and lightest e-reader devices around.

Regarding its availability, pre-orders for the Bigme B6 are currently accepted via the company’s sales page. The B6 comes in shades of Black, Green, and White. It is accompanied by a magnetic case, which again comes in five attractive shades – Blue, Green, Pink, Purple, and Gray.
