MagInk MagSafe Smart Power Bank with E-Ink Display to Make Crowd Funding Debut Soon

Start-up MagInk has announced the launch of its latest device, a smart power bank featuring an integrated E Ink display, the website eReaderPro reported. Apart from offering fast-charging support, the power bank allows you to display an image that serves as your personal style statement, while also providing an extended power source to rely on whenever needed.

The 3.5-inch e-paper display supports four colors and has a resolution of 600 X 360 pixels. This translates to a pixel density of 200 DPI, which is quite good, it must be said. It comes with a mobile app that connects to the display via NFC or Bluetooth. You can use this app to replace the current image with a new one.

Alternatively, the e-paper display is also backed by an AI-image generation tool, which can generate an image based on a text description. The image generation too,l being based on proven AI models like Midjourney, DALL-E, etc, you can expect to come across high-quality images generated as per exact specifications.

Given the highly power-efficient characteristic of e-paper displays, having an image displayed will have a very negligible impact on the overall power scheme of things. You can have an image displayed on the E Ink display for almost as long as you want without drawing any power. The e-paper display will only draw power when the display changes, that too, only a very minuscule amount.

As for its power credentials, the power bank comes in two versions, having 5000 mAh and 10,000 mAh capacity. It supports MagSafe wireless fast charging of up to 15W and wired fast charging of up to 22.5W. It can be used for charging smartphones, smartwatches, and other compatible devices. It sports a slim and lightweight design that is easy to carry and is extremely portable.

It comes in two design options – the base model that is made of PC+ABS material and comes in shades of black, white, and slate gray. Then there is the Pro version, which is made of an aluminum alloy and offers a very premium feel. It also supports the Apple “Find My” search function, which means it is going to be easy to trace the device just in case it gets lost.

Coming to its price and availability, MagInk said the E Ink-enabled power bank will make its crowdfunding debut soon. The Basic and Pro versions of 5000 mAh capacity have been priced $59 and $89, respectively. Similarly, for the 10,000 mAh capacity, the Basic and Pro versions have been priced $59 and $99, respectively. However, those who sign up for the Super Early Bird price can avail of a flat 50 percent discount.
