iReader Tango Smartphone-Sized e-Reader Launched In China

Here comes the iReader Tango, the newest entrant in the smartphone-sized e-book reader market currently dominated by the Onyx Boox Palma. Much like Boox Palma, the iReader Tango also has a 6.13-inch 300 PPI B/W display that offers crisp visuals. As ITHome reported, the display supports 256 levels of grayscale and has a max refresh rate of 30 Hz, achieved in fast refresh mode 2.0. The display also benefits from warm and cool lighting, which ensures comfortable reading in daytime or even in complete darkness.

Under the hood, the Tango features an octa-core GPU that works in tandem with an independent GPU. There are 8 gigs of memory onboard along with 128 GB of storage. Keeping the lights on is a 3900 mAh battery, which should last a couple of weeks easily. It supports Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi (2.4G + 5G). There is also a Type-C port for recharging the battery as well as for data transfer requirements.

Other specs include a pair of mics and a single speaker unit. It runs SmartOS and supports 5-point touch input. It comes in shades of Moonlight Silver and Knight Black. It measures 159.5 × 80 × 7.9mm and weighs 157 grams. The Tango, however, is only available in China, though international buyers can still order the same via JingDong. The e-reader is currently on sale for around $250.
