Linfiny has stated they will be introducing a new 13.3-inch color e-note device featuring a Kaleido 3 display this year. Tentatively named Digital Paper, the e-note device will have an i.MX8M mini (Quad-core Cortex A53 1.8GHz) processor under the hood. It will have 32 GB of storage which is rather small by today’s standards but will likely have cloud backup to ensure you never run out of space. It is not known at this moment how much RAM the device will come with.
Keeping the device going is a 2000 mAh battery which again seems a bit smaller but should still be able to keep things going for a few days at least. Wireless connectivity that the Digital Paper supports includes IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac WAVE2) MIMO 2.4GHz/5GHz and Bluetooth 5.0. It also features NFC 13.56MHz / FeliCa, which is commonly used in Japan. As Good e-Reader stated, Fujitsu Quaderno features this NFC tech and it will likely have a version of Digital Paper to offer.
The e-note will have three primary apps when it launches – a note-taking app, a PDF viewer app, and an NFC tag cooperation app. When applied in the workspace, on-site workers will be able to input their data and other relevant info directly to the company cloud service via the Digital paper device. This will make it easier for the management to sort and analyze such data via suitable applications, thereby enhancing workspace efficiency.
The Digital Paper however won’t be carrying the Linfiny brand when it eventually launched something this year. That is because the company is largely into B2B and hence, it is going to be other manufacturers that would be launching the device carrying their brand name. The device measures 222.8 × 301.1 × 5.7 mm and tips the scales at 368 grams. The accompanying pen will have 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity.
Linfiny first came into being in October 2017 and used to be a joint venture company between E Ink Holdings and Sony Semiconductor Solutions. However, Sony sold its entire stake to E Ink in April 2023 and it is not known for sure if it has ventured out completely of the E Ink space. Stay tuned for more on this.
